Selling “in”
Artists who revert back to old values worth acknowledging
By Joshua McCracken
The term “sell-out” used to get tossed around a lot at my high school. Since I mostly hung out with the punker/stoner kids, I heard it a lot more than others may have.
The lines were pretty clearly drawn: Marilyn Manson was a sell-out, Rancid was close but not quite there, Green Day was a group of sell-outs to top all sell-outs, etc, but not once did I ever hear anybody talk about selling in.

Let the people choose
There seems to be no end in sight.
After winning ten state primaries and caucuses straight, Barack Obama is not only the frontrunner in the Democratic candidate race, but may also be the final nominee should Hillary Clinton do poorly in the next two races (Ohio and Texas, March 4). Without those wins, Clinton has only one other option: the superdelegates.

Protect America Act expires
Last week the House Democrats left Washington D.C. for vacation, allowing the Protect America Act, or modernized FISA act, to expire. With the expiration of the Protect America Act our intelligence gathering must now operate under the older Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA for short.
This may sound good to someone who is paranoid that the government is going to select their phone conversations out of millions to eavesdrop on. However, people who are concerned about this do not understand how the process works.

Don’t pity Hillary!
While also airing clips of "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina" from the musical "Evita," News Radio AM 620 broadcast a despondent, tired and close-to-tears Sen. Hillary Clinton in an ad which first appeared in Texas, where the presidential hopeful is getting a head start for the March 4 primary.
This ad, also found on www.hillaryclinton.com and titled "Lifetime," seems to be a repeated attempt to win a state after the New Hampshire tear-up victory in early February.

Fetal ageism
I wrote an article entitled “Reason vs. abortion” a few weeks back, to which I received several responses. After reading the responses I noticed a fair amount of rhetoric I had seen before – rhetoric that failed to properly factor fetal rights into consideration.
According to my observations this is a systemic failure in much of the modern abortion debate. As such it must be addressed before progress is possible.

China needs another revolution
Recently, Steven Spielberg resigned as artistic advisor to the upcoming Beijing Olympics in order to protest China’s support for the government behind the Darfur genocide. Human rights organizations and Free Tibet protesters are gearing up to make a scene at the Olympics.
With Long March veterans speaking out for democracy, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) morale in a lull and a booming economy that is inequitably distributed, Olympic protesting could spark a popular uprising.

Lindsay stoops too low
The spring fashion line edition of New York Magazine will be seeing yet another side of Lindsay Lohan. The once-actor/singer/boozer can be seen posing nude in a Marilyn Monroe tribute which would cause Monroe to turn in her grave.
Giving a nod to photographer Bert Stone and having him shoot again, Lohan attempts to re-create Monroe’s famous 1962 shoot, even in the same Hotel Bel-Air where Monroe originally posed.

Ethanol
I have to congratulate you guys on a tremendous one-sided presentation of the facts on Ethanol. First of all, for all of the research done presenting this article, you managed to misspell "Ethanol" (spelled "Ethynol" on the front page of the Post). Maybe that should've been enough to tip me off that I shouldn't have gone on to read the article, but I did.
