Panthers fight to draw against Bulldogs
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against Butler University on Oct. 8, extending the Panthers’ non-losing streak against the Bulldogs to eight games.
The Panthers are 7-0-1 in their last eight contests versus the Bulldogs and improved their overall record this season to 4-8-2. Sophomore Colin Baker scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 53rd minute.

New home, same results
Usually, when the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women’s volleyball team takes the floor as the home team, it’s in the friendly confines of the Klotsche Center, right on campus.
On Saturday, however, the venue — the U.S. Cellular Arena — was quite different. Serving as the opening festivities to Panther Madness, the volleyballers quickly dispatched the visiting Butler Bulldogs in three straight sets, 30-22, 30-20, 30-21.

After great seasons by both the men’s and women’s basketball teams last year, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee displayed the newest version of Panther basketball on Saturday night at the U.S. Cellular Arena in downtown Milwaukee.

Good news and bad news for the Packers
Through six weeks of the NFL season, the Packers have had their fair share of tough luck. Somehow, though, there is still reason for optimism. It’s early, and there is plenty of good news coming out of Titletown; unfortunately, there’s plenty of bad news to go with it.
Good news: The Green Bay Packers are coming off of their second best week of the season.
