Men’s soccer falls in defensive struggle

The chance to get back on track was too easy for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s soccer team. The University of Illinois-Chicago was reeling, coming off its first loss of the season to a Wisconsin team that tied Milwaukee.
UWM could have knocked out the Flames, taken a 1-1 Horizon record back home and been ready for the long homestand.

After Marquette, stumbling Panthers
Is there no end to the madness? The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s soccer team, coming off an exhilarating victory against Marquette in a game full to the brim with storylines and emotion, have taken a systematical free fall in the standings and find themselves facing a lost season if they don’t turn the tide, and fast.
The season began to look up following the Marquette game, the first ever under the lights of Engelmann and the first win over former coach Louis Bennett.

Releasing Carroll the latest of Thompson’s mistakes
Despite Ahmad Carroll’s tendency to hold everything (wide receivers in particular) he comes across, he failed to hold onto his job with the Green Bay Packers any longer. The Pack released the struggling cornerback last week, admitting one of many mistakes leftover from the Mike Sherman era.
Carroll, Green Bay’s first-round draft choice in 2004, became the scapegoat for the Packers’ 31-9 loss to the Eagles on Monday Night Football, but not before two-plus penalty-plagued, coverage-blowing seasons for the Pack.

Terrell Owens always seeks attention
No matter what city he’s in, what team he plays for or who his coach is, Terrell Owens seems to find trouble.
T.O.’s latest incident was his alleged suicide attempt. According to Dallas police, it was later known that T.O. was hospitalized because of an “accidental overdose” to pain medication that he was taking for his finger.
