2007 best season in 10 years

Womens tennis finished regular season with win over Youngstown State

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukees womens tennis team capped off its most successful season in 10 years with a 4-3 win over Youngstown State Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers (11-9, 3-4 Horizon League) wrapped up the regular season by matching their most overall victories since the 1996-1997 season and likely securing their highest league finish since 1997-1998.

Weather shuts down UWM sports

Dreaming of a white Christmas was supposed to be months ago. Now were dreaming of a white ballgame?

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team had its series with Youngstown State pushed back because of inclement weather. This is the sixth time baseball has been postponed or canceled due to bad weather, the highest among all the sports teams at UWM.

Shadow games

A big thanks goes out to the Baseball Writers Association of America for keeping that cheating punk Mark McGwire out of Cooperstown.

The slugger with Hall of Fame numbers and a hall of shame cloud over his career doesnt deserve to be enshrined along such great players as Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Henry Aaron and Tris Speaker.

Durant-Nowitzki comparisons mixed

The Milwaukee Bucks recently shelved Michael Redd for the rest of the year, increasing their slim chances at earning the second worst record in the league.

The two worst teams will have the best odds in the NBA draft lottery at landing the top two picks, which are almost certain to be Greg Oden and Kevin Durant, although not necessarily in that order. In the event that the Bucks defy the odds and win the No. 1 overall pick as they did in 2005, theyll have a choice between the two soon-to-be-millionaires.

Whos coming to the Pack?

The NFL Draft is right around the corner as the show will go down on April 28-29 from New York City. Up at 1265 Lombardi, the Green Bay Packers are facing three glaring needs, including running back, tight end and safety, in that order.

Luckily for general manager Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy, there are three solid players that realistically could be available when the Packers select with the 16th overall pick.

Snow in April puts a damper on exercise

Thanks to Wisconsin and its fantastically horrid weather, in April we accumulated about four to six inches of snow â?¦ once again I love this state.

And due to the previously warm weather, most exercisers have gotten into some sort of workout routine that could involve going outside.
