Panthers strike out in tourney

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee seniors Kevin Massiah and Nick Hansen played their last game as the Panthers traveled to Chicago last Tuesday, but lost to the University of Illinois-Chicago, 83-77.
UWM took a huge lead in the first half but UIC crawled back, advancing to the second round of the Horizon League Tournament.

Panthers race to indoor track titles
It was a clean sweep for the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee track and field teams, as the women won their second-straight Horizon League tournament crown and the men captured their fourth at the Horizon League Indoor Championships last weekend in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Senior Jeremy Majors was named the Outstanding Running Performer of the meet for the mens team after winning the 400-meter and the 800-meter events and running with the first-place 4x400 relay. Majors led four Panther scorers in the 400m, crossing the line in 49.56.

Panthers halt Flames 11-game win streak
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee womens basketball team broke the University of Illinois-Chicago Flames 11-game winning streak Thursday night, when they came back from an 18-point first-half deficit and tied a school record with 59 points in the second half. The Panthers won, 89-83.
The Panthers (13-15 overall, 9-6 Horizon League) had six players in double figures, two of them scoring more than 10 in the first half. Leading them was Traci Edwards with 22 points and six rebounds, followed by Aubrey Hampton with 15.

Bucks fans already focusing on off-season
For the Milwaukee Bucks, its been a season of shattered bones and shattered hopes, bruised muscles and bruised egos and, well, a lot of losing.
Playoff hopes look slim “ even in the dreadful Eastern Conference “ and many Bucks fans are already salivating over potential lottery picks Greg Oden and Kevin Durant (although subconsciously they already know the Bucks will sneak into the eighth playoff spot, get swept in the first round, draft a stiff like Joakim Noah, and eventually move the team to Las Vegas).
