I don“t want soda

For those of you who bring your lunch to school, you may not have noticed that while our choices for food are abundant, our healthy choices are sorely lacking. While I am not a health freak, I have been trying to make some healthier choices lately. Our university is making my new lifestyle very difficult.
I have become very comfortable eating Taco Bell every day for lunch. I try to bring lunch, but I often forget, so I end up going with my old stand-by. I always get one of the meals, but I have one problem. I“m trying to cut soda out of my diet.

Reject “Intelligent Design“
Last week, the Kansas state board of education voted 6-4 against the teaching of intelligent design within public schools. The vote means that, in one of the more conservative states in the nation, intelligent design can no longer be taught as a theory alongside evolution within science classrooms.
Creationism in schools was outlawed nationally by a 1987 Supreme Court ruling that made it illegal to teach religious views in the classroom. However, creationists maintain that intelligent design is different when compared to creationism in that it doesn“t specifically say who or what the creator is. By just saying that “something” intelligent created the different species of animals in the world, the “science” avoids affiliation with any religion.

U.S. of G-O-D
Anyone who has spoken to me for more than two seconds on the topic of organized religion knows exactly where I stand. Put simply, I don“t like it. I think it limits people to horrible degrees.
Before the incredibly religious among you start showing up at my house with torches, hear me out. This is not completely about religion; this is about religion“s effect on government.

Did they run out of schools to shoot up?
What is going on with our world? There are children fighting against U.S. military personnel in Iraq. Malls are shutting out teenagers because they can“t behave themselves. An astronaut tried to kidnap and kill a woman who was vying for the attention of a man she had her eye on. The streets are unsafe and our children aren“t learning.
The most shocking part of the 1990s was when school shootings started becoming a regular occurrence. I remember the Columbine shooting well. Everyone in my school was scared. A very Joseph McCarty-esque manhunt started.

Wherefore art thou Mario?
Finding love is indeed like playing Mario Brothers. However, Mario is not the only one feeling the frustration. Think of it from Princess Peach's point of view.
Here she is, knowing that the perfect man for her exists, yet he wastes his time and effort going through all of the wrong castles and flirting with princesses who will never be right. Like most guys, he needs to try everything wrong before realizing that the one who matters is right there waiting for him.
