Iowa State seeks Jeter; signs another coach
Panthers re-sign through 2013 season

Just hours following the loss in the NCAA Tournament to Florida, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball head coach Rob Jeter received a call from an old friend.
It was the athletic director from Iowa State University, Jamie Pollard, who worked at the University of Wisconsin as associate athletic director while Jeter was an assistant coach.

Close, but Admirals fall short
In front of an electric crowd of nearly 10,000 at the Bradley Center on Friday night, the Milwaukee Admirals lost a heartbreaker in a 3-2 shootout against the Iowa Stars, despite an outstanding effort by goaltender Brian Finley.
Finley made 44 saves, with three coming in the shootout, but it wasn’t enough to preserve the victory. In the shootout, the Stars took a 2-1 lead with Admirals player Chris Durno having a chance to extend the shootout in the Admirals last chance, but his shot sailed wide and gave Iowa the shootout victory.

Brewers’ future bright beyond 2006
The Milwaukee Brewers finished 81-81 in 2005, finishing without a losing record for the first time in 12 years.
With young prospects making their way into the starting lineup, there’s reason to believe it could be at least 12 more years before the Brewers find themselves back below .500.

Track and field teams pick up records in outdoor season meet
After winning both the men’s and women’s Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 26, both University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee track and field teams have picked up right where they left off, as the teams begin their outdoor seasons.
The women have been led by junior Taryn Corzine. In the season opener at the Southern Illinois Invitational, Corzine paced the Panthers by finishing second in the 400-meter hurdles. Her personal best time of 1 minute 3.73 seconds was good enough for eighth best in school history.

Down, but not out
The Milwaukee Bucks once again played gritty basketball against one of the most proven teams in the NBA.
Playing hard-nosed basketball against the first-place team in the East, the Detroit Pistons, they were not triumphant, but fell valiantly, to the tune of 112-105 loss.

Bucks in playoff form
The Milwaukee Bucks are finding themselves in a strange position this year — above .500, poised for the playoffs and playing tremendous basketball as the regular season draws to a close.
After going just 30-52 in the 2004-2005 season, the revamped Bucks are currently 37-36 and are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, fourth in their division.

Battle at the Bradley
As the battle for the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference heats up, the Milwaukee Bucks prevailed in an outstanding game over the Indiana Pacers, 96-89, Saturday night at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
The game was once again a back and forth struggle, but this time, the Bucks were the victors.
