Sports enthusiasts have been discussing what the problem with the United States has been in recent international competitions. The basketball team disgraced itself by not winning the gold in Athens. The hockey team was throttled in Turin. Now the baseball team shamed itself in the World Baseball Classic.

In 1998 under the auspices of former University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher an idea was born — the Milwaukee Idea.

There’s yet another reason to be proud of the state of Wisconsin, and his name is Russ Feingold.

I find it really surprising every day how many people lack common courtesy. I’m not sure what parents are more concerned with that allows them to forget to tell their children to say “please” and “thank you,” not to chew with their mouth open, to hold elevators if they see someone a few steps away, or to move over on the sidewalk to allow someone to pass in the other direction comfortably.
