As focus drifts, grades sink

At least one student begins the semester by attending an 8 a.m. lecture 15 minutes early. Eventually, this student realizes how unnecessary it is to arrive so early, and starts waking up for that class at about 7:55. Pretty soon, the kid blows off class altogether for an extra hour or so of shut-eye. You know that kid? You might even be that kid.

Track teams excel in non-scoring meet

Sparked by the success of junior Timeka Walker and senior Tenia Fisher, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women’s track team was excited about its early season performance in the non-scoring Northern Iowa Classic in Cedar Falls Friday. The men also participated and won five events.

Women score first win in 7 years in Green Bay

Inspired by senior Nichole Drummond’s performance in which she recorded her 1,000th career point, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women’s basketball team beat UW-Green Bay on the road Saturday for the first time since 1998.
