Davis scores 22 to lift Panthers past Youngstown State

team had for inter-league foe Youngstown State as senior Boo Davis terrorized the Penguins on their home court Jan. 26.

Bucks should have made effort to trade for Artes
Milwaukee Bucks General Manager Larry Harris has done a great deal of work in the past year to turn around a team that finished with an embarrassing 30-52 record in 2004-’05.
He hired coach Terry Stotts, re-signing star shooting guard Michael Redd, drafted Andrew Bogut with the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, traded Desmond Mason for all-star center Jamaal Magloire, and acquired last year’s most improved player Bobby Simmons via free agency. All these moves were instrumental in returning Milwaukee to legitimate playoff contender status.

UWM close to regular-season crown
With the month of January in the bag, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball team has taken the conference in stride. Except for the shutdown on ESPN2 against UW-Green Bay, the Panthers have gone undefeated in the Horizon League.
Taking a league record of 9-1 into February, Milwaukee has just six league games left on its schedule, along with a comfortable three-game lead over the second-place Butler Bulldogs. While Butler has to cover a lot of ground to catch up with Milwaukee, they can accomplish a lot in one night.

Individual, relay efforts pace Panthers win
In the pools of Western Illinois University, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's swimming and diving team scored a 125-112 victory last Saturday, Jan. 28, in Macomb, Ill.
Leading the Panthers men was Jeremy Seibel, a sophomore who claimed first place in the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle. His 200 IM time of 2:02:74 was the best for a Panthers this season, and the fact that he only beat UWM freshman Robby Leibold by just over one-tenth of a second only adds to the dominance UWM had in the event.
