Women volleyball team heads to league tournament with bye

Season highlighted with 12 straight wins

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women’s volleyball team claimed a 30-26, 33-31, 30-23 win over the UW-Green Bay Phoenix Friday night in the regular season finale for both teams.

The Panthers (20-8 overall, 12-2 Horizon) had three players reach double figures in kills for the match with senior Rachel Kuebbing leading the way with a match-high 21 kills.

First NCAA tourney match win for women’s soccer team

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women’s soccer team continued its heart-stopping postseason run with a 6-5 shootout victory to capture the team’s first NCAA tournament victory in its history.

The Panthers (12-4-5) and the Purdue Boilermakers (11-7-2) played to a scoreless tie in regulation, but UWM came out on top in sudden death penalty kicks, achieving its first NCAA tournament win in its fourth appearance at the tourney.

Women fall in second round of NCAA

It took opponents of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women’s soccer team 717 minutes to score, but when a team finally did, it was a heartbreaking goal.

The UWM women’s soccer team lost 1-0 to Marquette at Valley Field in the second round of the NCAA soccer tournament.

Swimming and diving teams defeat Valpo, SDSU

Both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams defeated Valparaiso and South Dakota State University Sunday at the Klotsche Center.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s squad defeated SDSU 132-92 and Valparaiso 141-78. They were lead by swimmer Chase Gravengood, who won two events and diver Jeff Jasinowski, who won both of his diving events.

Men’s soccer wins Horizon League tourney; heads to NCAA

For the fourth time in as many seasons, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s soccer team won the Horizon League Tournament.

The Panthers accomplished the feat after defeating the University of Detroit Titans 1-0 at Titan Field in Detroit.
