One endless cat-and-mouse chase
Muscle-clad hunks of steel dominate the imagery of hope and expectation in a man's life. Does a woman really want the callous exterior that only melts off under the bedroom covers? In the relationship market, the “bad boy with a heart of gold” appears to be the bestselling version of the male coming of the societal assembly line. Roaring out of women's dreams on his motorcycle carrying an aura of apathy toward everything but himself — this man makes the women swoon and the men cower. The attraction to his disregard possibly stems from the human attraction to what we can't have. Women relish the overbearing challenge — breakthrough the icy personality to extract a warm love he didn't know he could experience. Right? Assistant A&E Editor Tyler Gaskill (ChunkyT1983) and UWM Post Photo Editor Sara DeKeuster (SaraBara18) try to find out what straight people really want from one another.
Once you go black … ?
ChunkyT1983: Ok, first question: How did your interracial relationship start? Was it like any other relationship? Or did you always desire someone from another race?
leenern2: Wow, ok... For the last 4 years I have really only dated men outside of my own race. It isn't a requirement for me but that is just the way it has happened. I met my current boyfriend who is African-American down on Spring Break last year.
