At approximately 10:30pm Friday Oct. 3, UWM Police were alerted to an intoxicated female student in Sandburg Hall. The young woman was reported to have been sitting in a chair outside the Emporium convenience store swaying back and forth. She then put her hand in her mouth, inducing vomiting, and became combative after throwing up. The student was then taken to a hospital via ambulance.

On Oct. 4, UWM Sandburg Hall staff reported a guest giving them problems. The guest attempted to register under two different names, the second time trying to use his friend’s student ID card. Both the guest and his student acquaintance consented to breathalyzer tests, with the guest blowing a 0.17 blood alcohol content. Both were issued underage drinking citations.

UWM Police were informed of a drug use complaint in Sandburg Halls’ East Tower Oct. 4. The informant reported that people were snorting cocaine in a bedroom windowsill. Upon arrival at about 5:15pm, UWM Police found a glass marijuana pipe in one male student’s pocket. He was charged for drug paraphernalia. Trace amounts of white powder from the windowsill tested positive for cocaine, but nobody was charged for possession of the drug.

A house party on the 2900 block of N. Cramer St. was reported to UWM Police at about 1:00 a.m. Sunday Oct. 5. 25 underage drinking citations were issued.

UWM Police were alerted to a theft incident in the UWM Bookstore on the afternoon of Oct. 7. A suspect, with a history of suspicious activity in the bookstore, was observed stealing a poster and a comic book. The merchandise was valued at a total of $30.99. The male suspect returned the items when he was caught, but then took off running. A security employee chased him but lost sight of him on the 2000 block of E. Linwood Ave.

A student reported a laptop stolen from the 5th floor of Bolton Hall Wednesday, Oct. 8. The room where the computer was stolen from was unattended from 11:00-11:15 a.m. The stolen Apple Macbook Pro was valued at $2,117.

Wow, I’m glad there were no reports of amateur shared governance gone wrong. That stuff can be pretty dangerous, especially when the constituent service tables get involved.
