NRHH and how to get involved

University Housing org continues mission of recognition

By Michelle Sauer

The organization recognizes all those who bring hard work and commitment to serving their community to the table, including outstanding achievements while living on campus.

UW- Milwaukee takes pride in its many diverse community organizations, including the residence halls’ committees. One such organization within the residence halls is NRHH.

NRHH, National Residence Hall Honorary, is a UWM university housing organization consisting of the top 1 percent of student leaders living in university housing. The organization can hold up to 27 members, and is currently looking to add to its numbers.

The main goal of NRHH is recognition. The organization recognizes all those who offer hard work and commitment to serving their community, including those who contribute some pretty outstanding achievements while living on campus.

They recognize everyone from students to staff, including RAs, and put an emphasis on commemorating such individuals.

NRHH also takes place in community service projects and programs for residence as a continued effort to their recognition and service mission.

NRHH Treasurer Connie Eller expressed the organizations excitement for this year and is teaming up with the University Housing section of the UWM Post to notify students of events and ways to participate, as well as recognize award recipients throughout the year.

Coming up this week are two events for NRHH. On Oct.6 NRHH is hosting a “Special General Body Meeting and Ice Cream Social” at the RiverView residence halls. The event will be held in the cafeteria at 9 p.m.

Oct. 13 NRHH will bring a “General Body Meeting” to the Sandburg channel at 9 p.m. Both events are a great opportunity to ask questions and find out what NRHH can do for university housing residents, as well as what these individuals can do for NRHH.

Take note of these two events and try to attend one or both. Remember, shuttles run between the residence halls to accommodate individuals residing, visiting or working at either location.

For more information, check the University Housing section of the Post weekly, or contact NRHH directly. Their office is located two doors away from SHAC in room C213 of Sandburg. Other methods of contact include phone, (414) 229-5017, or e-mail, nrhh@aux.uwm.edu.

Consider NRHH a great vehicle for taking an active part in your community, and recognize those who have been continuing their efforts to do so as well.
