“Road to the White House” makes stop at UWM
C-SPAN’s “Road to the White House” bus made an appearance at UWM last Tuesday Sept. 16. The 45-foot long bus was at the Klotsche Center Pavilion from 9:00a.m.-11:00a.m. C-SPAN’s bus is touring the nation in an effort to promote and improve its coverage of the 2008 presidential race.

Dorm decision pushed back another week
The UWM Real Estate Foundation now says it will most likely make a decision on a location and developing firm for a new UWM residence hall facility by the end of this week. The Post previously reported that, according to UWM Foundation President David Gilbert, a decision would probably happen by the end of last week. Sources close to UWM say Mandel Group’s “Hometown” site is the favorite, but that is unconfirmed.

MPS looking into dissolving district
The Milwaukee Public School Board voted 6-3 last Thursday to begin exploring the possibility of dissolving the district. The unexpected, dramatic decision means that the administration will consult state and federal guidelines for dissolving. They’d also look into who would teach Milwaukee children if that happened, according to the Journal-Sentinel.

Health and Wellness Fair to be held Wednesday
A Health and Wellness Fair will be held at UWM this Wednesday, Sept. 24. It will be held in the UWM Union Concourse from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The fair, which will feature asssesments, information, and prizes, will be accompanied by an ongoing “On Public Health” series beginning Tuesday, Sept. 23.
