Women start 1-0 on season

This is the third straight time the Panthers have defeated the Badgers, this time, completely dominating their opponents from the capitol city.
Kevin Durant. Greg Oden. Sarah Hagen. What do these three people have in common?
Yes, you are probably quite familiar with two of the three. In fact, if you don't know who they are, you are probably reading this just to tune out the instructor you are finding boring right now. The third person, however, you should become familiar with very soon.
All three had quite the coming out party in their collegiate debut. Hagen, a newcomer to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus, announced her arrival with authority, scoring two goals in a 3-0 victory over in-state rival Wisconsin.

Despite having numerous opportunities in the first half, the match was scoreless heading into the locker rooms. The Panthers quickly changed that when Hagen headed a marvelous cross from junior Kate Megna to the far post past UW keeper Jamie Klages in the 65th minute.
The freshman wasn't finished though, scoring just seven minutes later, rocketing a corner kick from sophomore Nicole Sperl into the back of the net.
Junior Louise Vraney closed out the scoring by adding an insurance goal in the 88th minute. The upperclassman redirected a corner from Megna to ensure there would be no comeback this day.
Senior goalkeeper Erin Kane was a stone wall, adding four saves to her career total for her 37th collegiate win.
Milwaukee head coach Michael Moynihan should be pleased with his team's opening performance. He is managing a team that aims to win its ninth straight Horizon League regular season championship, and hopes to make the NCAA tournament again after just missing last season.
