List of potential dorm sites released
The Journal-Sentinel reported that the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Real Estate Foundation unveiled a list of potential new dorm sites on Monday Aug 4. The two sites closest to campus are on the corner of East Locust Street and North Humboldt Boulevard, the current site of Tracks Tavern and Grill, and a 2628-60 N. Humboldt Blvd. location.
Tom McGinnity getting new position
Tom McGinnity was recently promoted to Associate Dean of Students. The University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Student Activities Office, or SAO, is currently seeking a new director.
Mayor Barrett seeks audit of MPS
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett announced Thursday Aug. 21 that he is seeking private funds for an audit of the Milwaukee Public School system. Recently, many public schools were recipients of new classrooms and miscellaneous improvements but showed declines in student test scores.
Harley-Davidson celebrates 105th Anniversary
Harley-Davidson Motorcycles will celebrate its 105th Anniversary with a variety of activities in Milwaukee. The 105th Parade takes place Aug. 30 as a caravan of motorcyclists ride from Miller Park to the Summerfest grounds. Official street parties are scheduled for Aug. 27 and Aug. 30, and the Harley Davidson exhibit will be held at Discovery World Aug. 24-26.
