Inside you will find treadmills, elliptical machines, balance balls, free weights and anything else you might need to get that body of yours in tip-top shape.

In case you haven’t noticed, there is an exercise area conveniently located right in Sandburg. Inside you will find treadmills, elliptical machines, balance balls, free weights and anything else you might need to get that body of yours in tip-top shape.

The Green Room also offers a variety of fitness classes Monday through Friday. Each staff member of the Green Room is required to teach at least one class a week, and all classes are free to Sandburg residents.

Green Room employee Alyssa Sandberg is featured in this week’s first edition of ‘meet your instructor.’ The purpose of this section is to inform Sandburg residents of the opportunity they have to take some great classes and get fit without even walking outside.

Sandberg, a sophomore, is new to the Green Room this year; but let me tell you, her Monday core class had my abs hurting for a week.

This girl knows what she is doing.

She’s an elementary education major and some of her hobbies include working out, shopping and water sports. Her favorite thing about working in the Green Room is her fellow colleagues.

“My co-workers are very friendly and nice,” said Sandberg. “It’s a fun place to work.” On Mondays Alyssa teaches “Sweat, Shape and Strengthen,” a class which works your core: your back, butt and abdominals. This class begins at 4:30 p.m. and lasts 30 minutes.

“This class works your abdominals and you can really feel the burn after my class,” said Sandberg.

If you’ve always dreamed of having a sexy six pack, then start taking this class and you’ll be on your way to a smoking hot bod’.

“Fitness Frenzy” is the class that Sandberg teaches on Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. In this hour long class, be prepared for a total body work out, including work with the medicine ball and free weights.

This high intensity class focuses on burning off those calories from the pizza you ordered last night at 2 a.m. It also concentrates on strengthening.

Be sure to stop in the Green Room and take one of her classes; your body will thank you.

“Sandburg residents should really take advantage of the Green Room because it’s so close and can help you get a rockin’ body,” said Sandberg.
