Last Tuesday, I regretfully indulged the flashy, politically charged CENSORSHIP! I Put flyers on Union tables and attended the Students for a Democratic Society’s Winona LaDuke lecture.
Winona’s lecture consisted of her traditional Ojibwa saying and the usual anti-Bush, anti-government, anti-anything-not-American Indian rant. Two hours later, the bleak Q&A section turned scandalous when my friends and I were censored.
Yes, censored. Censored by the same group that is using YOUR tuition money to promote a series of speakers presenting against government censorship.
How do I know I was censored? That’s simple. The same group running this event had one of their officers speak at a senate meeting, calling myself and other senators who wanted to save students tuition money “discriminatory, and non-viewpoint neutral.”
I guess viewpoint neutrality and the fight to end censorship ends when it’s a conservative doing the talking.

i was at that senate meeting.
if you google viewpoint neutrality, you will find that it is legally required of student government financial decision-makers under the first amendment of the united states constitution.
this requirement exists to encourage diversity among student organizations. thus a student organization is not bound by it, even if someone really wants to ask a question at an event.
our student government clearly did violate viewpoint neutrality this summer, thus breaching the u.s. constitution. this is criminal behavior.
i am interested to see whether members of the student government will end up in court for their behavior. of course this wouldn't be the first time.

Let's clear this up, "Franklin" (clearly a pen name... let's stop flaming anonymously).
The SA Senate is the body that decided to cut funding for SDS... if you actually read the SA legislative branch constitution before spewing your anti-SA rhetoric, then you would know that the senate does not need VPNT
I'm sure the US government has enough on it's hands dealing with the case of the college student getting TASERED at the Kerry event.
