Fun fact: I was excited about becoming an administrative assistant solely because of Pam Beesly.
On Sept. 27, the Emmy Award-winning show “The Office” will return to NBC for its fourth season. I plan to completely wet myself with glee.
The fan base is huge and the ongoing quotes are nothing short of hilarious. At the same time, the acting is fantastic and the storyline is always intriguing.
Fun fact: I was excited about becoming an Administrative Assistant solely because of Pam Beesly. However, not everyone is a ridiculously quasi-pathetic fan like me.
Because I am getting myself pumped up for the season premiere, I watched the third season on DVD. It took about two days’ time, give or take a day…that’s a lie. I know it’s take.
I am prepared to give you a recap of what was going on, just in case you forgot.
When season two wrapped up, viewers were left with an image of Jim and Pam kissing, followed by a blank screen. After a summer of screaming for more, season three picked up immediately following the kiss, with Pam telling Jim that she was still getting married to Roy.
This was not one of Beesly’s finer moments. Jim couldn’t handle being around Pam anymore and requested a transfer to the Stamford branch of Dunder Mifflin.
Meanwhile, Oscar was forced to come out of the closet, so of course he and Michael shared the most awkward kiss of the year.
Pam broke off the wedding with Roy due to “cold feet,” which is Scranton speak for “I’m in love with Jim.” Toby tried to ask Pam out on a date, but the poor guy just couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Dwight attempted a coup, which quickly ended in hilarious failure. About halfway through the season, Scranton and Stamford merged, putting Michael in charge of the new branch.
Jim returned to Scranton with his new girlfriend Karen, as well as Andy, who quickly became Dwight’s nemesis. Pam and Roy almost got back together until Roy went berserk after finding out that Jim was the reason they had broken up.
Creating even more awkwardness in the office, Jan and Michael parted ways until Jan got breast implants. The fallout from this led to Jan getting fired.
The season hit its climax during the last few episodes, when Jim and Karen both interviewed for the same position as Michael.
During his interview, Jim found a sweet note from Pam and decided that he may have a future in Scranton after all.
Season three ended on the “Oh my God, it’s finally happened” moment of the century, with Jim finally asking Pam out.
That should bring you pretty much up to date. Now start saving up your Schrute Bucks for the epic premiere on Sept. 27.
