PRO FOOTBALL
Best Play-by-Play: Joe Buck, Fox
The son of legendary Jack Buck is funny and knowledgeable and puts in the necessary preparation and blends well with broadcast partner Troy Aikman.
Runners-up: Al Michaels-NBC, Jim Nantz-CBS
Best Analyst: Phil Simms, CBS
Simms draws well on his knowledge from his playing days with the New York Giants.
Runner-up: Darryl Johnston-Fox, Rich Gannon-CBS
Worst Play-by-Play: Sam Rosen, Fox
How does this guy still have a job? He’s called his fair share of Detroit Lions vs. Atlanta Falcons games, which is all you need to know. He can blame NFL Network for firing Bryant Gumbel, who would’ve won this hands down.
Runner-up: Kenny Albert-Fox
Worst Analyst: Cris Collinsworth, NFL Network
Wow, this guy is a tool. He is arrogant, unprepared and a Packer hater.
Runners-up: Brian Baldinger-Fox, Dan Dierdorf-CBS
Best Sideline Reporter: Chris Myers, Fox
Runner-up: Adam Schefter-NFL Network
Worst Sideline Reporter: Pam Oliver, Fox
Besides interviewing Terrell Owens a lot, what does she actually do?
Runner-up: Tony Siragusa-Fox
Best Network Studio Pregame: CBS
Outside of Shannon Sharpe, who is a complete moron, this is the most insightful of all. Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason and Bill Cowher are top-notch as well as host James Brown. NBC has the great Bob Costas and about two dozen morons. Fox was the best for about 10 years, but losing Brown to CBS hurt.
Worst Network Pregame: ESPN
Except for the Mayne Event and Tom Jackson, ESPN is completely awful, as is anything in life with Chris Berman. Emmitt Smith took journalism back 50 years.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL/BASKETBALL
Best Play-by-Play: Gus Johnson, CBS
For whatever reason he gets all the dramatic games and he deserves them.
Runner-up: Brent Musberger-ESPN/ABC, Dick Enberg-CBS
Best Analyst: Bill Raftery, CBS/ESPN
“And the Badgers come out, man-to-man!” and “Darren Collison, with the kiss!”
Runners-up: Kirk Herbstreit-ABC/ESPN, Jay Bilas-ESPN/CBS
Worst Play-by-Play: Dan Schuman, ESPN
Constantly complains about officiating. Let it go.
Runner-up: Mike Patrick-ESPN
Worst Analyst: Hubert Davis, ESPN
I know, I know; he’s a studio guy. But he’s unprepared and has the worst anti-Wisconsin stance of anyone I’ve ever seen.
Runner-up: Desmond Howard-ESPN
Best Sideline Reporter: Erin Andrews, ESPN
Great reporting skills…college coaches gravitate to her for some reason.
IN STATE
Best Play-by-Play: Wayne Larrivee, Packers Radio Network
The Brewers’ Bob Uecker and Jim Powell, and UW’s Matt Lepay are fantastic but Larrivee throws the dagger at this honor.
