Favre to be on ‘Madden NFL 09’ cover

Even in retirement, John Madden loves Brett Favre. Favre has been chosen to be the cover athlete for the next installment of the popular football game. “Madden NFL 09” will mark the twentieth installment of the flagship franchise, and is set for its customary August release.

Cunningham Hall briefly evacuated Wednesday

Cunningham Hall on the west side of campus was briefly evacuated following a report of a staff member smelling smoke. About 50 people were evacuated, and after fire crews gave the go-ahead, students and staff members were allowed to re-enter.

Cheap transportation offered to Chicago

The UWM Adventure Center is offering a trip to Chicago on Saturday, May 3 for $10 a person. A $5 deposit is due April 29. The trip will last from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information visit the Adventure Center in the basement of the Union or call 229-5513.

New Orleans brass band and UWM students involved in Katrina awareness event

The Free Agents Brass Band and two UWM students researching the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina will give a presentation Wednesday, April 30 from 7-9 p.m. in the Union Ballroom. Through music and discussion, the event’s planners hope to spread awareness about the continued effort to rebuild New Orleans and the ongoing struggle of Katrina survivors.
