Leaders of the Achieving Student Action through Progress (ASAP) party spoke to members of the press on Friday in the UWM Union on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus. ASAP was thrown off the student election ballot on Wednesday, and has filed multiple appeals.
While the press release stated that Alderman Nik Kovac would be in attendance, Mr. Kovac did not attend.

"...They've (university administration) been basically saying, you know, continue to contact the ACLU..." Finally, documentary evidence that the university administration and the ACLU are in cahoots!

Let me get this straight. You are the victims. So you want to change the rules. Legibility might be a problem (sort of like hanging chads?) so you will be watching closely. The only thing that is missing is the word disenfranchised. I think I've heard some of this somewhere before? The plot thickens. Interesting indeed.

Keep fighting the good fight. Don't forget the student government operates at our behest--we can overthrow the student government.

What an injustice. I know that Alderman Kovac was very pro student and I hope he does issue the statement he said he would on this. It is very important that this gets as much attention as possible. email him and see what he's going to do: nkovac@milwaukee.gov.
