The Bucks can use another guy that can help Bogut grab rebounds and stop teams from coming inside.
As the season comes to an end, it’s time for the Milwaukee Bucks to look to the future. The NBA draft lottery that takes place in May, which will determine what pick the Bucks will land, will be important in terms of who they may acquire who will turn this team around.
The way the Bucks have been playing for the past few years, every player up for the draft would be able to help, but the problem is that the Bucks can only have one. Here are the top five players who would look good in a Bucks uniform next season.
5. Brandon Rush: This versatile forward from Kansas could be what the Bucks
need. He has the size, at 6 feet 7 inches, and the speed to help the Bucks score when they go into droughts.
Players like Bobby Simmons have not provided the offense and defense out of this position that Brandon Rush could provide. He scores over 13 points a game and averages over five rebounds. He is also an experienced college player that could help the Bucks immediately.
4. Brook Lopez: You might be saying that they already have a 7-foot center in Andrew Bogut, but Brook Lopez from Stanford could play power forward for this team. Lopez has the ability to post people up and score with his back to the basket that many power forwards don’t possess.
Lopez will allow you to stretch the defense in order to give Bogut more room in the post, and he’s also a great rebounder.
3. Jerryd Bayless: This freshman point guard from Arizona is quick and not afraid to assert himself on the offensive end. Bayless scored 19.7 points per game in one year of college, and his up-side will be large for years to come.
Bayless is a tall guard that would provide the size and quickness needed on the defensive side of the ball that Mo Williams lacks.
2. Derrick Rose: Another outstanding point guard from Memphis who is explosive on offense and defense. Rose has the ability to pass and take quality shots.
The only thing Rose will need to work on is becoming more aggressive on offense because at times he shies away from shooting. Rose, being a taller guard at 6-foot-3 with great speed, would bring defense to a team that needs it desperately.
1. Michael Beasley: This dominant power forward from Kansas State is an unbelievable scorer who can shoot from long range and can dominate in the post. He is strong and not afraid to do whatever it takes to help his team win. The Bucks can use another guy that can help Bogut grab rebounds and stop teams from coming inside.
The only problem is that the Bucks will have to win the lottery to land him. If they do, look for Bogut and Beasley to dominate for years to come.
This June, hope for one of these five guys to be on the team. They would help turn the Bucks into the playoff-caliber team that Bucks fans are tired of waiting for.
