A male student was cited for underage drinking at 2:15 a.m. April 11, on the 3200 block of Maryland.

A female student was cited for possession of marijuana April 11 when police were dispatched to the 25th floor of the North Tower of Sandburg Halls. After Sandburg security noticed a suspicious odor coming from one of the rooms, police were notified and knocked on the student’s door. The female responded and police noticed the smell of marijuana and an open window despite it being 32 degrees outside. After being questioned, the student retrieved three plastic bags, each containing small amounts of marijuana, and two unopened bottles of UV vodka. A blow tube was also found. Police issued a $370 ticket for marijuana possession and gave her a warning for the alcohol and paraphernalia.

A white male was chased by library security April 9 at 7:25 p.m. after setting off the security alarm. The suspect ignored a request to approach the desk and fled the building, heading north. After reaching Hartford Avenue, the suspect stopped running and told security he couldn’t get caught and gave three books, each valued around $75, back to security and left. Police were on site by 7:35 p.m. but were unable to locate the suspect.

A laptop valued at $1,000 was reported missing from room 540 of Lapham April 8 at 8:00 p.m. The computer was used for the biological sciences department and was last seen April 7 at 6:00 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry.

A female student reported $400 missing from her black coin purse April 8 after hanging out with friends in a room in the RiverView dorms. The woman said she gave her purse to a man there and told him to put it on a refrigerator at around 1:00 a.m. When the woman retrieved her purse and left at 4:00 a.m. she noticed that her money was gone. The man she gave the purse to denied any wrongdoing and police are still looking into the matter.

A student’s Milwaukee Brewers T-shirt was reported stolen from the laundry room in the dorms April 8 at 10:30 a.m. The student said he washed the shirt and put it in the drier the night before and the next morning it was gone. The shirt is valued at $20.

On April 6 at 6:55 p.m. a man reportedly stole seven bottles of vitamin water from an unlocked cooler in the Grind Coffee shop in the EMS building. The suspect said his conscience got the best of him and later confessed to an EMS computer lab staff worker who called the police. None of the bottles were tampered with or opened and the suspect was given a warning and released.
