Freshman Kristin Fritsche has something that not many dorm dwellers can say they have. No, not a pink Vespa. Fritsche has her own room complete with all the girly essentials and fantastic suitemates any girl could ever ask for.

Q: Many people say that living in a single can get lonesome. Would you rather live with a roommate or do you enjoy your living situation?
A: I guess it all depends on your suitemates. Luckily, my suitemates and I get along very well and we are usually around the suite at the same time. I’m glad I have a single.

Q: You have a lot of sweatshirts in your closet. Do you have a favorite or a cool story about one of them?
A: Well, since I wear nothing but sweatshirts to my early classes, its crucial to have as many as I do. A PINK sweatshirt I have, I bought for my sister this last Christmas, and had the biggest urge to wear it out before giving it to her. I ended up getting so many compliments that I kept the sweatshirt for myself. She got a CD instead that year.

Q: There are a lot of hair care products and perfumes on your desk. Do you usually get ready in your room to avoid the bathroom?
A: Surprisingly, I get ready in the bathroom, just because the mirror is more convenient, but I keep all my products in my room because they are my personal belongings.

Q: You have quite the collection of DVDs. What are some of your favorites?
A: I love DVDs, but my favorites are “Superbad,” “Step Up” and “The Break-Up.”

Q: Do I see a Chanel tote creeping out of your closet? Now be honest, real or fake?
A: You caught me, it is fake. Saved myself a couple hundred dollars I guess.

Q: If you could paint your room any color what would it be and why?
A: Lime green. It might be quite the eyesore after a while, but I love the color and it would brighten my day every morning.

Q: If you were forced to have a roommate, what would your ideal living companion be like?
A: With me being an early riser, I would hope they weren’t nocturnal, as well as someone who loves to share stories, and laugh at almost anything. Besides the fun personality, I would want a roommate who knows how to get down to their studies.

Q: You seem to be quite the James Dean lover. What about him makes you want to wake up to his baby-face every day?
A: What can’t you love about him? He’s good looking, and has a bad boy personality to him. Too bad he isn’t still around today, I would be his biggest fan.

Q: Did you clean up just for us, or are you always this neat?
A: Honestly, I’m a neat freak, but not as neat as the pictures come across. I leave my bed unmade and usually leave dirty food out from lunch, but for the most part I find myself picking up my room at least once a day.

Q: What scent is your Glade PlugIn? Do you use this in lieu of candles?
A: At the moment it’s cucumber melon, from Bath and Body Works. I wish we could have candles.

Q: The hat hanging on your bed seems very bohemian, just the opposite from the girly-romantic feel your room exudes. Where did you get it from and do you wear it often?
A: I don’t wear hats often, I got it on a clearance rack at the mall. I wear it if I go with friends to lunch or to the mall, not around campus or anything.

Q: Who are in your pictures and what are you doing in them?
A: My pictures consist of old friends from high school, which makes my room feel like home because it reminds me of the old days. We’re simply laughing and having fun.

Q: Anything else you would like to add about you current living situation or style of room?
A: I think having a single is just awesome! I can do whatever I want when I want, and I was lucky to be placed with the suitemates I have. The style of my room is unique to me, and if I could clutter every inch of my wall with pictures of friends and family I would.
