Three laptop computers totaling $4393 were reported missing Feb.25 from Mitchell hall. The computers were left in a room and were to be used by art students and teachers. The room was locked and there was no sign of forced entry. The computers were thought to have been stolen sometime between Feb. 23 and Feb.25.

A backpack and its contents valued at $780 were stolen from the Union bookstore Feb. 27 around 5:27 p.m. The victim said he went into the bookstore at 5:20 p.m. and left his backpack in-between the carpet and the door, and when he went returned the backpack was gone. Inside the backpack were a laptop, 3 books and a wireless mouse. Police said the store’s surveillance tape shows a man walking next to the backpack, stopping, and then taking it.

A man was arrested for OWI Feb.28 at 2:26 a.m. on the corner of Maryland and Edgewood. The driver was originally pulled over for failure to stop at a traffic light and was subsequently administered field sobriety tests that revealed the suspect had a .13% blood alcohol level.

A nylon briefcase and its contents valued at $365 were stolen from the Union bookstore Feb. 28 at 2:15 p.m. The victim entered the store at 2:10 p.m. and noticed the briefcase was gone upon leaving. Surveillance footage from the store identified the suspect in this case as the same one from a Feb.27 backpack theft from the Union bookstore. Inside the briefcase were prescription glasses, a flash drive, and books.

A cell phone was stolen from a table in the Union Feb.28 at around 3 p.m. The victim said she was sitting at a table across from a computer kiosk in the northern area of the union. When the victim went to use the computers, she returned less than five minutes later to find her phone missing. The black and gray Nokia flip-phone is valued at $150.
