Guinness Brewery is attempting to make St. Patrick’s Day an official U.S. holiday by offering a petition online to supporters of the idea. If passed, Proposition 3-17 would give most Americans the day off and “reduce the amount of employees missing work in order to celebrate,” according to the proposition’s Web site.
