The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s basketball team had another rough outing Wednesday night as they fell to Cleveland St., 74-64.

Cedric Jackson was the star of the game, scoring 18 points for the Vikings while flirting with a triple-double by adding nine rebounds and nine assists. Deion James had a stellar performance for the Panthers from the bench, leading Milwaukee with 18 points and grabbing five rebounds. Paige Paulsen, Marcus Skinner and Deonte Roberts all contributed 11 points.

Milwaukee trailed by as many as 14 in the second, but closed to within seven with under five minutes remaining. It was mental mistakes that did the Panthers in, as Milwaukee committed 22 violations to the Vikings’ 14. The Panther’s shot their free-throws well, however, converting 9-of-10 attempts while Cleveland St. hit 19-of-25. Cleveland St. improved to 18-11 overall and 11-6 in the Horizon League while the Panthers dropped to 13-12 overall and 8-7 in the Horizon League. The Panthers have lost four out of their last five games after winning nine of their previous 10.
