“I teach ‘Sports Training,’ which basically is a throwback to your high school days in athletics,” Andy said. “We do exercises that will remind you of soccer, football, track, volleyball and a myriad of other practices.”
You can catch this week’s fitness instructor, Andy Wiesner, teaching three classes per week in the Green Room.
Andy is currently a senior who is majoring in criminal justice with an emphasis on sociology. He enjoys playing volleyball and all water sports, and has competed every semester of his college career except one on the El Nino volleyball team.
On Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Andy teaches “Sports Training” with Noah. Andy describes this class as, “a general physical workout that doesn’t focus on a specific section of the body, but instead provides a full athletic experience.”
“I teach ‘Sports Training,’ which basically is a throwback to your high school days in athletics,” Andy said. “We do exercises that will remind you of soccer, football, track, volleyball and a myriad of other practices.”
At 2 p.m. on Thursdays Andy teaches “Circuit Camp.” This hour-long class is designed to incorporate high-intensity exercises for short durations.
“It’s a combination class and the participants complete various circuits targeting different parts of the body, from legs and butts, to abs and arms.”
Also on a Thursdays, from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m., Andy teaches “Start Stepping,” which, you guessed it, features exercises on the step.
“This is a medium-intensity class designed to get you moving and up on that step,” Andy said. “We do a variety of step combination and abdominal workouts.”
Andy believes that the Green Room is one of the many convenient aspects of living in Sandburg Halls.
“In the Green Room we provide an extremely wide variety of fitness classes and programs which are always available for residents to participate in,” Andy said.
If you feel like trying a new work out this week, then stop by the Green Room and get in on one of Andy’s classes. You won’t regret it.
“I love the flexibility and easy going work atmosphere of the Green Room,” Andy said. “We have an excellent staff who make this job a truly rewarding experience.”
