The Jackalope Lounj in Milwaukee’s Third Ward served up the largest martini in the world on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

The 15-gallon Hawaiian Cosmopolitan was part of a fund-raiser benefiting Camp Heartland, a Milwaukee-based organization helping children with HIV/AIDS.

The event took place outside The Wicked Hop at the Jackalope Lounj on the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue. Surrounding the Herculean drink was a Hawaiian party with live music.

“I think it is a fun, original event that everyone is going to enjoy,” said Miles O’Neil, owner of the Wicked Hop and Jackalope Lounj.

The colossal martini glass was carved from a block of ice and stood about five feet tall. The ice ensured that each $5 pour was cold and crisp for every party-goer.

O’Neil got the idea for the world’s largest martini from another benefit the restaurant held last St. Patrick’s Day: the world’s largest Reuben sandwich.
