Drugs and alcohol

An 18-year-old male student was cited by campus authorities on allegations of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 10:44 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28. The student’s backpack was searched at the security checkpoint in the commons area of Sandburg Residence Hall, where 0.7 grams of marijuana and a glass pipe were discovered.

Campus police assisted the Milwaukee Police Department in issuing underage drinking citations to four 20-year-old students and one 18-year-old non-student in the 2900 block of N. Farwell Ave. at 1:46 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Three female students and two male students were issued underage drinking citations on the 1800 block of E. Kenwood Blvd. at 12:37 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30.

An 18-year-old male student was caught urinating on the lawn outside Sandburg Hall at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30. When campus police questioned him, he said he drank five Jagerbombs and couldn’t hold it in any longer. He was cited for underage drinking and given a warning about urinating on the lawn.

Sixteen students and 16 non-students were issued underage drinking citations at a house party on the 2900 block of N. Maryland Ave. at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1.

A 19-year-old male student and an 18-year-old female student were found with a small amount of marijuana and a pipe in Downer Woods at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2. Both were issued citations on allegations of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A 19-year-old man was cited on allegations of drug paraphernalia and an 18-year-old man was cited on allegations of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the South Tower of Sandburg Hall at 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4. Authorities were alerted by the smell of marijuana coming from a room in the South Tower. Neither of the men cited were students.

An 18-year-old male student was found with a glass marijuana pipe in his backpack in the East Tower of Sandburg Hall at 6:02 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4. He was issued a citation on allegations of drug paraphernalia.

An 18-year-old male student was found with a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe in the North Tower of Sandburg Hall at 8:52 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4. He was cited on allegations of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

An 18-year-old male was cited on allegations of underage possession of alcohol in the commons area of Sandburg Hall at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5. The man, who is not a student, was found with cans of beer in his backpack.

A 19-year-old male student and an 18-year-old female student were cited on allegations of underage drinking at 12:06 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6. The two were found outside on the 2500 block of E. Hartford Ave. with open cans of beer.

Seven students were issued citations on allegations of underage drinking at a house on the 3000 block of N. Cramer St. at around 2 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6.

Theft

A 20-year-old student was arrested on allegations of stealing a disabled parking sign from the Union loading area at 8:26 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2. The man was seen putting the sign into his van and was issued a citation.

A female student reported her purse stolen from Bolton Hall at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2. Including the cash it contained, the purse has an estimated value of $463.

A male student reported his bicycle stolen from the bike rack outside of the South Tower of Sandburg Hall at 3:18 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3. The bike has an estimated value of $330.

Cash totaling $33 was stolen from the women’s locker room on the third floor of Mitchell Hall by an unidentified man at 7:21 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3. The man was caught by a female student going through her locker. She chased him out of Mitchell, where he fled in a maroon car.

A wallet containing $20 was reported stolen from a female student while she was sleeping the night of Tuesday, Oct. 3 and the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 4. She said she left the wallet on her desk when she went to bed and woke up to find it missing. Her door was not locked.

A female student reported a DVD player stolen from her room in the South Tower of Sandburg Hall at 8:54 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4. The DVD player is valued at $45.

A wallet and jacket were reported stolen from the men’s locker room in Mitchell Hall at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5. A male student said he left his wallet and jacket on the bench in the locker room and came back to find them gone. The stolen goods are worth an estimated $405.

Other

A dance in the Wisconsin Room of the Union was shut down at 11:50 p.m. after a fight broke out on Friday, Sept. 29. Authorities were called after 15 to 20 people started fighting. When they arrived, five people were still fighting and the event was closed. No arrests were made.

The third floor of the women’s locker room in Mitchell Hall was found vandalized with graffiti at 10:35 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2. Unintelligible words were scrawled in red marker all over the walls of the locker room. There are no suspects.
