Drugs and alcohol
An 18-year-old male student and a 19-year-old man who is not a student were issued citations at 2:46 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23. Campus authorities spotted the two on the 3400 block of N. Maryland Avenue drinking. The non-student was allegedly smoking from a marijuana pipe while the student was seen urinating on the fence surrounding Downer Woods. The student was cited on allegations of underage drinking and given a warning for public urination, while the non-student received citations on allegations of underage drinking and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Three male students, ages 19, 20 and 22, were cited on allegations of drinking outside the circle driveway outside Sandburg Hall at 11:06 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24. The 19-year-old and the 20-year-old were cited for underage drinking, while the 22-year-old was cited on allegations of unauthorized possession of alcohol on a UW campus.
Theft
A school computer valued at $1,100 was taken from the Architecture and Urban Planning building during the weekend of Sept. 23. The computer was ripped from the security cable that was supposed to secure it.
A male student reported his cell phone, cash and credit card stolen from a locker in the men’s locker room at the Klotsche Center at 11:38 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 25. The locker was left unlocked. No monetary value was given for the stolen items.
A guitar belonging to a male student was taken from a classroom in the Engineering and Mathematical Sciences building at 1:08 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25. The guitar is reportedly worth $625 and was left in the room by the student after he left class.
A male student reported his wallet stolen from a locker in the men’s locker room at the Klotsche Center on Monday, Sept. 25 at 12:35 p.m. The wallet contained $150 in cash, credit cards, a driver’s license and personal papers. Campus authorities have no suspects.
A laptop computer valued at $1,500 was reported stolen from Bolton Hall at 2:03 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26. The laptop was UWM property and was not secured with a locking cable.
A male student reported his bicycle had been stolen from the bike racks outside of the South Tower of Sandburg Hall at 11:24 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26. The bike was locked up with a chain lock. Campus police have no suspects.
A female student reported her purse stolen from the EMS building at 1:26 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27. She told campus police she left her purse under a sofa on the first floor of the building, left for an hour and found it missing when she came back. The purse reportedly had $300 in cash, as well as a debit card and her driver’s license. It was later found empty on the floor of the men’s room in EMS.
Other
An 18-year-old male student was cited on allegations of misuse of a campus emergency telephone and underage intoxication at 12:35 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24. He made an emergency call to campus police but then admitted there was no emergency.
A UWM employee was arrested in Lubar Hall for violating a restraining order at 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27. The employee was turned over to the Milwaukee Police Department.
