[Immigrants] have come in illegally, and they had no right to make a home here for theselves without our government's consent.

America is a great land; the United States a great nation. Many years ago, a few determined and strong-minded people suffered many hardships to make a dream come true. This is the American Dream: freedom.

Today, our county reflects that dream and there’s no wonder why so many people want to be a part of it. Our nation’s charm is partially due to its diversity. I’m sure you’ve all heard the term “melting pot” in relation to our country.

People coming from different countries with different cultures are what make the United States what it is. But now we have to wonder if too many people are trying to enter our land.

Many immigrants that come to our county enter illegally. Immigrants are the feet of America; they are what we all stand on. I say this because immigrants often work lower-wage but vital jobs that help support our economy.

However, many U.S. citizens want undocumented immigrants to be sent back to their respective countries and prevent more from entering. Many controversies come with this issue, whichever way you choose to look at it.

First of all, if we send back the undocumented immigrants who have already made a home in the U.S., we are tearing apart many families. Deportation leaves many young people without one or both of their parents due to deportation. Secondly, by sending them back, we’re chopping off our own feet and may be damaging our economy.

However, allowing illegal immigrants to remain in this country is wrong to many. They have come in illegally, and they had no right to make a home here for themselves without our government’s consent.

Yes, it is important to acknowledge our feet, but it’s also important to acknowledge our head. Without our government and the laws that this country is based on, everything would fall apart. To bend the rules for some would eventually cause them to break.

In the end, our land can only support so much before it will crumble.
