In the top of the eighth Berkovitz singled to right field, which drove in Jesse Hart for the eventual game winner.

Junior Grant Berkovitz drove in the winning run in the eighth inning to give the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers the lead and eventually the win in the second game of a doubleheader against Cleveland State.

Andy Hetebrueg started the second game for the Panthers (9-22 overall, 8-8 Horizon League), lasted until the seventh inning and gave up only four hits and one run while he struck out two in the 2-1 win.

Jordan Herbert came in to close out the game for Hetebrueg, pitched two and one third innings, and allowed no hits and no runs with three strikeouts.

The Panthers lost the first game of the double-header, 10-3. The Vikings (10-26, 7-7 Horizon) came out early and scored three runs in the third off of a couple of singles that drove in unearned runs.

The Panthers came back, cutting the lead to one after the forth and fifth innings, scoring one run in each inning, but the Vikings cashed in on a five-run inning in the fifth after four singles and a couple of sacrifices lead to a six run deficit for the Panthers. UWM scored one run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly ball from Ross McCoy, but the rally was too little, too late.

In the second game the Panthers did as they have all season: They stepped it up, allowing only one run in nine innings and using their defense to help out the pitching staff.

No runs would be scored until the sixth inning when Rob Brockel flied out to right, driving in Kyle Silver. Cleveland State would come charging back with a double followed by a single, driving in one run in the bottom of the sixth.

The seventh inning would go scoreless, but in the top of the eighth Berkovitz singled to right field, which drove in Jesse Hart for the eventual game winner. The Vikings were hitless from there on out as the Panthers pitched their way to victory.

The Panthers will face Northwestern on Wednesday in Evanston, Ill., followed by a doubleheader on Thursday at Northern Illinois. UWMs next home game is April 27 against Wright State.
