Latinas and Empowerment: Challenging our Cultural Traditions

Hefter Center @ 6:30 p.m.

Come and listen to Azara Santiago-Rivera talk about the challenges that Latinas face in the modern world. This event, sponsored by The American Association of University Women, is free and open to the public. For more information call (262) 377-1128.

Tai Chi Workshop

Come and learn certain Tai Chi moves at the Tai Chi Center located at 733 E. Locust St. The daytime class is from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and the evening workshop is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The registration fee is $10 and participants can register the day of the class or in advance by calling 453-9901.

Last day to sign up for Spelunking

UWM Outing Center

Sign up and join the UWM Outing Center as they go and explore Wisconsin through spelunking. The trip will take place on April 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost for the trip is $15 and is non-refundable. For more information contact the Outing Center at 229-5513.

Riverwest Co-op Family Fun and DANCE Night

Lakefront Brewery Palm Garden @ 5-11:30 p.m.

Come with friends or bring the entire family to this evening filled with entertainment that will last all night. Enjoy the Scrapyard Sideshow that will feature stilt walkers, unicyclists, jugglers and more.

Last day to sign up fro Devils Lake Rock Climbing

Sign up and join the UWM Outing Center as they go and climb the steep rocks at Devils Lake. The trip will take place on Saturday, April 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $45 and includes transportation, climbing and equipment. For more information contact the Outing Center at 229-5513.

Saturday, April 21

Poison Dust

Center Street Library @ 2-4 p.m.

Come and see this documentary about three young men from New York who have just returned home from their tour of duty in Iraq with an unexplainable disease.

Following the film will be a question and answer session with the filmmaker, Sue Harris. The Center Street Library is located at 2727 W. Lisbon Ave. This event is free and open to the public.
