Campus Police Report

Drugs/Alcohol

A 24-year-old male student was issued a warning and released after UWM Police reported finding him walking with an open can of beer by Holton Hall at 3:08 a.m. on Saturday, March 31. The man was accompanied by four others, who were also given warnings.

Theft

A male student reported his drivers license and $8 in cash taken from his dorm room on the sixth floor of Sandburg Halls West Tower at 7:11 p.m. on Monday, April 2. It is believed that the theft occurred sometime between Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1.

A female student reported her cell phone stolen from the seventh floor commons area in Sandburg Halls South Tower. The woman reportedly left her phone in the commons area and returned to her room realizing her phone was not with her. When she went back to the commons area, it was gone. The phone has an estimated value of $200.

A female student reported her iPod stolen from her dorm room in Sandburg Halls North Tower at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3. The woman told campus police that she left her room unattended and unlocked from 12:30-12:45 p.m. earlier that day and noticed her iPod missing shortly after that. The iPod has an estimated value of $200.

Robbery

A male student reported being the victim of an attempted robbery on the 3100 block of N. Oakland Avenue around midnight on Monday, April 2. The man told campus police that a white or Hispanic male who stood about 6-foot-1-inch and weighed between 170 to 190 pounds told him Your life is being threatened and demanded money and the mans cell phone. When the man told the robber he did not have either on him, he was reportedly patted down by the robber, who then fled north on Oakland.

Other

A male student was issued a citation on allegations of attempting to pass someone elses ID as his own at 4:34 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3. The man was detained at the UWM Bookstore on suspicion of attempting to sell back books that he had not purchased. After being questioned, he reportedly presented an ID that was not his to UWM Police, which resulted in a citation and $500 fine.

A 35-year-old male who is not a student was sent to jail for violating his probation by being on campus at 6:19 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3. The man, who was not supposed to have any contact with the UWM campus as a condition of his probation, was found in the Golda Meir Library. He told UWM Police he did not know the library was part of the campus.
