Milwaukees outdoor dining is the most charming and relaxing environment to have dinner in this upcoming season.

There are so many reasons to be excited for springtime in Milwaukee: driving with my windows down, taking a jog down Lake Drive and finally putting on that cute cotton dress after the longest winter I have seen in my life.

Yet, despite the on again off again spring-like weather we have been having lately, nothing welcomes in the beautiful weather like outdoor dining.

I almost get too excited at the sight of metal tables with their white umbrellas dotting the sidewalks of Milwaukee. I wait for the moment when I pick up the phone to make my dinner reservation and request to sit outside.

With the stars above me, a candle flickering in the wind and the best people-watching I will ever come across. Milwaukees outdoor dining is the most charming and relaxing environment to have dinner in this upcoming season.

Palms

221 N. Broadway

Enjoy cool and crisp Californian cuisine at Palms. This summer, try their many takes on the classic mojito.

Cubanitas

728 N. Milwaukee

One of Milwaukees only places to get a great Cuban sandwich. Cubanitas, which specializes in Cuban cuisine, has a fun atmosphere and amazing plantain chips served with their own guacamole.

Milwaukee Ale House

233 N. Water St.

Walk up to the host stand and request patio seating - you wont be disappointed. The patio, which is appropriately situated in the back of the restaurant, overlooks the Milwaukee River. After dinner, hop on down to the riverwalk for a lovely stroll along the glittering river.

Beans and Barley

1901 E. North Ave.

Order your meal in a to-go box and bring it right outside the doors. Beans and Barely sets up tables for two to enjoy a soy smoothie and vegan lasagna. However, make sure to wear bug repellent; Beans has not yet mastered a way to keep the bees away.

Alterra

Many locations throughout Milwaukee

It seems as though everyone has their own Alterra. Whether yours in on the lake, the bustling streets of Prospect Avenue, or now situated off of Water Street in the Third Ward, Alterra is the master of the perfect bistro table. Enjoying an iced latte and reading the newspaper has never been so chic.

Cempazuchi

1205 E. Brady St.

Serving authentic southern Mexican cuisine, Cempazuchi sets up their tables to enjoy the eclectic streets of Brady. The sangria should not go unnoticed and is the perfect compliment to a hot and steamy day.
