The daring, or maybe intoxicated, customers are always encouraged to take a ride on the notorious chili pepper that makes the atmosphere at La Perla even crazier.
Anytime youre going out for drinks, regardless what type of drink it may be, there are several factors that influence your decision on where to go: price, flavor, strength and atmosphere.
When you are looking for the best margarita, one venue comes to mind for Milwaukee-area college students. That is La Perla.
The Mexican restaurant, located on 5th Street in Milwaukee, is the self-proclaimed biggest seller of tequila. Since they specialize in selling every brand of tequila under the sun, of course their margaritas are something to brag about as well.
La Perlas margaritas can be purchased by the glass, $5.50-$9, or by the pitcher, around $24. La Perla has a menu that offers 14 different types of margaritas that can be customized to use your favorite tequila or flavor.
One of the most popular margarita choices is the La Perla, a blend of strawberry, raspberry, lime and blue that is presented in a swirl of colors. However, the favorite flavor among my table was the peach flavor. Its not on the menu, but the unconventional flavor exists. All you have to do is ask.
The bartenders at La Perla are certainly not skimping on the tequila. There is certain to be a surprised expression on some peoples faces and maybe even an exclamation after that first surprising sip.
On my last trip to La Perla several of my accomplices were surprised with how strong the margaritas actually were. By looking at the infamous wall full of pictures of various chili pepper riders, there are many other people who didnt realize their potency as well.
Probably the biggest appeal La Perla has is its atmosphere. The interior has colorfully painted walls that are lined with various bottles of tequila; the tables are unique, giving the restaurant a bright and authentic vibe.
In the summer, patrons are invited to enjoy their food and drinks from the rooftop patio. The daring, or maybe intoxicated, customers are always encouraged to take a ride on the notorious chili pepper that makes the atmosphere at La Perla even crazier.
For 25 cents, people are invited to take a ride on a bucking chili pepper, which is sure to result in screams, hollers and uncontrollable laughter.
Another reason why La Perla is the best place to get a margarita is the free shuttle service they offer. La Perla will kindly take care of all the hassle by picking you up and dropping you off via its free shuttle since the margaritas are so strong and tasty you might find yourself having more than you bargained for and in a state that make you unable to drive safely.
La Perla can offer you the best of all worlds when you adventure out on the town in search for the perfect margarita: hundreds of different kinds of tequila, a wide variety of flavors, a fair price, the perfect atmosphere and a safe ride. La Perla is open seven days a week for the lunch and dinner crowds.
In addition, La Perla recently opened the Tequila Bar, which is open on weekends so you can enjoy your margarita and tequila binge into the late hours of the night.
