This event explores womens issues such as body image. Admission is free.

Hollywood vs. History: Michael Collins

Union Theatre @ 6:30 p.m.

This film depicts Michael Collins, the Irish Revolutionary who helped free Ireland from British rule. Before the film, Cat Murphy will be setting the historical context and he will lead a discussion afterward.

Tuesday, March 13

Experimental Tuesday: The Animal Eclectic

UWM Theatre @ 7 p.m.

Come to the UWM Theatre to view a collection of these experimental shorts and videos exploring the art of animal imagery. Admission is free.

Wednesday, March 14

Lyrical Sanctuary: Writers Workshop

Multicultural Student Lounge, Union Room 198 @ 6-8 p.m.

In celebration of Womens History Month, performer Element C. Everest of Black Elephant will facilitate. Everest will help participants capture their thoughts and emotions and create works of art on paper. Admission is free. For more information call 229-6998.

Interpreting Beauty, film screenings

Fireside Lounge @ 7 p.m.

Short films will be shown in the Fireside Lounge about the art of female beauty. These screenings will be in conjunction with The UWM Art Galleries exhibit Mirror, Mirror on the Wall.

Have fun with your friends and wear your best neon shirt as the Rec Center lowers their lights for Cosmic Bowling.

Make your own sketchbook or journal

The UWM Studio Arts & Crafts Centre @ noon-2 p.m.

Come and put your creative skills to work as you design your own artistic book. The cost for the lesson and all materials is $30 for UWM students and $40 for community members.

Sunday, March 18

World Cinema: Road

The UWM Union Theatre @ 7 p.m.

Road follows two ex-lovers who set out on a road trip to find and analyze environmental clean-up sites. Admission to UWM students is free with a student I.D.

World Cinema: Police Beat

The UWM Union Theatre @ 5p.m.

Police Beat follows and African-born Seattle bike Police Officer. They follow him on his beat for seven days and document the crimes he covers which mirror his inner state.

Steppin lessons are from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and open dance is from 7:30 -10 p.m. After learning back steppin moves, show them off on the floor. Admission is $8 for pre-registered dancers and $10 at the door.

The Toughest Sport on Dirt is arriving for the first time at the Bradley Center. Admission starts at $20.

Saturday, March 24

8th Annual Spring Craft Fair

Three Holy Women Catholic Parish @ 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Come to St. Hedwig School Hall located at 1702 N. Humboldt and use the Brady Street entrance. Craft items will include candles, jewelry, cards, gift baskets, original photography and much more. There will also be a bake sale selling bakery items and sandwiches. Admission is $1.
