Campus police report

Drugs/Alcohol

An 18-year-old male student and a 19-year-old male student were cited on allegations of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, respectively, at 7:10 p.m. on Friday, March 2. The men, along with a 17-year-old male who is not a student, were reportedly in a suite in Sandburg Halls West Tower when campus police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the suite. When asked why the room smelled of marijuana, one of the men reportedly said, Because weve been smoking it. Inside the suite they found a bag of marijuana and an orange glass pipe.

Theft

A man was brought in to the campus police station on suspicions of theft by fraud at 2:42 p.m. on Friday, March 2. The man allegedly asked a female student to check out a laptop for 48 hours from the Golda Meir Library for him on February 26, claiming he forgot his student ID. When the laptop was not returned, she contacted UWM police on Feb. 28. The man returned to the library on March 2, where he was detained. A search of his home uncovered the laptop with the UWM labels removed. The case was referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorneys office.

A toolbox containing school supplies was reported stolen from a male student at 8:55 p.m. on Sunday, March 4. The box was reportedly stolen from Room 412 in the Architecture & Urban Planning Building and had an estimated value of $145.

A female student reported her jacket stolen from Room 441 of the Architecture & Urban Planning Building at 6:25 p.m. on Monday, March 5. The jacket, with an estimated value of $300, was reportedly left hanging unattended in the room from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. with brown sugar in one of the pockets.

A VHS copy of Bowling for Columbine and an English 102 class roster were reported stolen from a female professors mailbox in Curtin Hall at 1:29 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7. The videotape was borrowed from the Golda Meir Library and has a reported replacement value of $50.

A male student reported his jacket, cell phone and student ID stolen from a cubby outside the Klotsche Center weight room at 8:41 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7. The jacket has a reported value of $170, while the phone was reportedly worth $200.
