Look like Kenny Rogers
There is a Web site dedicated to just about anything. In this case, it is to men all over the country who look like Kenny Rogers (www.menwholooklikekennyrogers.com).
My fiancé and I came across this site because there was a question about it in Trivial Pursuit. It is safe to say that, at least according to the college population, Kenny Rogers ranks up there with Barbara Streisand, Tom Jones and Neil Diamond.
If you like any of their music, you sure don’t want it to be public knowledge. Next time you go out, be on the lookout for Kenny Rogers look-alikes. Surprisingly, they are everywhere.
Take a photo of one and it may be featured on the site. You can even order your very own menwholooklikekennyrogers.com T-shirt.
Craziness abounds
Ever wonder if some of your habits are bordering on crazy? Find out if they are normal or if you have developed a unique case of the weirdness on www.isitnormal.com.
Submit your story and let people comment on how normal or abnormal it is. Existing topics range from scratching your arm pits at a work meeting to wanting to beat up the Fanta girls.
Quiz yourself at Tickle
The best Web site to visit if you have lots of time to waste and love completing questionnaires is Tickle.
Find out what breed of dog you are, what city is ideal for you to live in, the right cocktail for you or which “That ‘70s Show” character you are most like.
There are hundreds more quizzes to take, and you can even invite your friends to take the same tests to compare your results.
Try it for free
Freebie junkies have found their paradise at Start Sampling.
This is not like other “freebie” Web sites that make you sign up for special offers, credit cards and magazine subscriptions before you get anything. This site actually delivers.
I have received all kinds of things, including snack bars, cleaning products, coffee and magazines for free from this site, no strings attached. Just register and select one free sample per day. The more you order, the more freebies are offered.
Good for a laugh
This Web site, The Lair of the Crab of Ineffable Wisdom, says it has “a load of stuff by Joel Veitch that will probably crush your will to live.”
It contains videos by Veitch and his band, 7 Seconds of Love, featuring animated photos of various animals dressed in costumes or in mutant form. Sure to make you laugh and wonder about the creator’s sanity.
Check out “Fishy,” “We Like the Moon” and “First Drink of the Day.”
Students around campus talk about their favorite Web sites:
Marscleite Merchant, 20, nursing major
“It’s got jokes and stupid knowledge. Every day there’s a tip of the day, like how to get free cable.”
Sean Ducas, 21, art education major
“Random videos of stupid shit.”
Tyler Gaskill, 22, journalism major
“The best page in the universe uses absurdist humor to make social critiques. More often than not, it’s purely an entertainment site. If you visit it, be sure to check out his scathing reviews of children’s art work.”
