Pixar steers to another hit

By Sean Quast

Pixar hasn’t missed once in the past decade, so why buy into the hype that “Cars” might possibly fail? If there is one thing Pixar understands, it’s good storytelling for all ages.

Yes, from what everyone has seen, “Cars” seems to be a movie about a big, flashy stock car that gets trapped, or lost, in the middle of nowhere. It seems a little too boring for anyone who doesn’t have a Dale Earnhardt sticker on his or her Power Wheels. But yet again this is the company that made a lost fish interesting.

With the voice talents of Owen Wilson, Cheech Marin and George Carlin, there’s going to be some adult laughs hidden in the dialogue.

“Cars” will be running circles around theaters on June 9. That’s plenty of time to familiarize yourself with the subject matter by watching every Pixar movie, and “Days of Thunder,” numerous times.

By the way, race cars only drive in circles. So, if Pixar makes that interesting, I will never doubt their subject matter again.
