When someone does something right, you usually want that person to do it again if needed. Both X-Men movies have been done right by director Bryan Singer, but he is no longer with the mutants.

No, he moved on to super-powered aliens who wear red and blue tights.

So now fans have director Brett Ratner (“Rush Hour,” “Red Dragon”) at the helm of this monster of a franchise.

Questions and concerns have come out of the black hole that is the Internet. But the stars of the film assure us that this X-Men installment will be just as good, if not better, than the last two.

The third X-Men plot revolves around a newly discovered “cure” that can eliminate the mutant genome. To Magneto (Ian McKellen) and his Brotherhood of Mutants, this is not a cure, but a step back in evolution.

Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and his X-Men must try to stop Magneto from starting an all-out war, while trying to protect non-mutant citizens who detest their mutant protectors.

The cast remains optimistic about the film, and from the looks of the trailers, this X-Men film will be a rollercoaster.

First off, Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) returns as The Phoenix and joins Magneto’s cause. The Golden Gate Bridge is uprooted and moved to another location as mutants congregate to fight.

And we get to see Colossus (Daniel Cudmore) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) perform the “Fast Ball Special.” The chrome-skinned Russian chucks Wolverine at an oncoming Sentinel. It looks like a nice nostalgic addition into the movie.

So to hell with all of the Internet rumors, the negative press and the fan-boy whining. If you’re not exited about “X-Men 3: The Last Stand,” then I don’t think any summer movie will satisfy you.

Besides, who doesn’t love Patrick Stewart?
