Assault
A 22-year-old male was arrested on allegations of assualtive behavior on April 7 at 12:44 a.m. The man was riding in a BOSS van along with two other passengers when he allegedly smashed the two other passengers’ heads together. He was issued a citation for $347.
Disorderly conduct
A couple was given a verbal warning for disorderly conduct after someone reported that they were arguing in the Downer Woods on April 6.
An 18-year-old male was given a verbal warning for disorderly conduct on April 7 at 2:27 a.m. The man was allegedly using profanities in the Sandburg Commons because he was left stranded by a friend.
A 19-year-old male was given a verbal warning for disorderly conduct on April 9 at 12:30 a.m. The man was allegedly harassing a cafeteria cashier in the Sandburg Commons, who called the police. When police arrived they asked the man if he had been drinking, and the man responded, “Yes, just give me a ticket.”
Drugs and alcohol
A 19-year-old male student was arrested on allegations of underage alcohol possession on April 6 at 4:40 p.m. Plain-clothed police officers observed the student in the Sandburg Commons carrying a duffle bag that contained 30 cans of Coors beer. He was issued a citation for $252.52.
Two males were arrested on allegations of underage alcohol possession on April 6 at 5:09 p.m. Plain-clothed police officers observed one student, 20, carrying a duffle bag that contained 25 cans of Coors beer. The other student, 19, was carrying a backpack containing 24 cans of Miller High Life beer. Each was issued a citation for $252.52.
A 20-year-old male student was arrested on allegations of underage alcohol possession on April 6 at 5:21 p.m. Plain-clothed police officers observed the student in the Sandburg Commons carrying a duffle bag that contained 30 cans of Miller High Life beer. He was issued a citation for $252.52.
A 19-year-old female student was arrested on allegations of disorderly conduct and underage alcohol consumption on April 7 at 10:55 p.m. The woman was caught breaking a beer bottle on the ground outside of Sandburg Hall. When security confronted the woman, she said, “Why are you such a b----?” She was issued citations totaling $536.52.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on allegations of underage alcohol consumption and ID card violation on April 7 at 8:13 p.m. Plain-clothed police officers observed the student in the Sandburg Commons carrying a duffle bag containing beer. He was issued citations totaling $757.02.
A 20-year-old male student was arrested on allegations of his second offense for underage alcohol consumption on April 8. Officers were sent to his room in the North Tower of Sandburg Hall because he was throwing food out of the window. The man, who was loud and defensive, said that his friend cut a hole in his window, and he was too lazy to get it repaired. He admitted that he was drunk. The student was issued a citation for $378.50.
A 19-year-old female student was arrested on allegations of possessing drug paraphernalia on April 8. Police responded to a call of a suspicious smell coming from a room in the South Tower of Sandburg Hall. When officers entered the room, they saw a bottle of liquor and a glass pipe with marijuana residue in it. She was issued a citation for $378.58. Two males in the room, both 19, were arrested on allegations of underage alcohol possession, and issued a citation for $252.52.
A 19-year-old male student was arrested on allegations of underage alcohol consumption and possession of fireworks on April 8 at 1:24 a.m. Police responded to a call of a suspicious smell coming from a room in the North Tower of Sandburg Hall. He was issued citations totaling $505.04. A student from Minnesota was also arrested on allegations of underage alcohol consumption, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued citations totaling $1009.68.
Other
There was a small grass fire reported on the south side of the Union circle drive on April 9 at 12:27 p.m. The fire was possibly started by a discarded cigarette. It was extinguished before officers arrived. No damage was done.
