Alcohol and Drugs
A 20-year-old male was arrested on allegations of second offense underage drinking and activating false fire alarms in the Sandburg Commons on March 21. The student’s description matched that of the surveillance tape. When questioned by police, the man said that he did it on accident. He was issued $757 in citations.
Three 20-year-old males were arrested on allegations of possessing alcohol on March 31. The students were seen in the Sandburg Hall parking structure carrying a backpack filled with 28 cans of Pabst, two bottles of vodka and one bottle of whiskey. Each was issued a citation for $252.50.
Two males, 19 and 20, were arrested on allegations of possessing alcohol on March 31 at 4:35 p.m. in the Sandburg Commons. The 20 year-old was carrying a backpack that had a bottle protruding from it. Each was issued a citation for $252.50.
Four males, all 20 years old, were arrested on allegations of underage alcohol consumption in the Sandburg Commons on March 31 at 6:10 p.m. Each man was seen each carrying a duffle bag filled with cans of beer and bottles of liquor. One man was issued a citation on allegations of second offense underage alcohol consumption, a $504.50 ticket. The other three men were issued citations on allegations of first offenses at $252.50.
Two men were arrested on allegations of alcohol possession on April 1 at 9:23 p.m. The men were seen walking in front of the Zelozo Center carrying plastic cups. The men, both 20, said that they were coming from a house party. When an officer asked one of the men what was inside of his backpack, he responded, “books.” After checking the bag, the officer confiscated two bottles of Captain Morgan rum. The men were issued citations for $252.50.
A 19-year-old female was arrested on allegations of possession of marijuana on April 2. Police responded to a report of a suspicious smell in the North Tower of Sandburg Hall at 4:13 a.m. The student handed a pipe over to police. She was issued a citation for $378.58.
Assault
An assault was reported in the Union on March 23 at 10:35 a.m. between a homeless couple. The 45-year-old woman said that her boyfriend hit her. The man, 49, said that she would not leave him alone and kept following him all over the Union. The man was charged on allegations of domestic violence and ordered to the district attorney.
Theft
Furniture valued at $1,992 was reported stolen from the Sandburg Commons on March 21. The missing love seat and lounge chair were later found in a 19-year-old man’s dorm. The student said that he had no furniture and needed some for his room. He was cooperative with the police and was let go with a warning.
A staff member from the Sandburg Residence Hall was arrested on allegations of stealing tools valued at $413, which were reported stolen on March 22. The 52-year-old male was ordered to the district attorney.
Other
Three students were arrested on allegations of causing a disturbance on April 2 at 4:47 a.m. for in Sandburg Commons. Upon arrival, two 19-year-old women fled the scene. They were later found by police in front of the library. Each was issued citations on allegations of disorderly conduct, for $284, and resisting and obstructing an officer, for $315.50. A 19-year-old male was also arrested for disorderly conduct and underage drinking.
