Burglary
A student reported that his car had been broken into in the Sandburg parking garage on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. The rear passenger side window was broken, causing $350 in damage. A CD player was also stolen.
Drugs/Alcohol
A 19-year-old male student was warned and released after University Housing staff found alcohol and marijuana paraphernalia in his South Tower dorm room during a routine safety inspection on Feb. 23 at 8:40 p.m. The staff found several cans of beer, a small amount of marijuana, a water bong and glass pipes.
Four students were arrested on allegations of underage alcohol consumption in the West Tower of Sandburg Hall at 9:58 p.m. on Feb. 23. A bottle each of rum and vodka was confiscated. A 19-year-old female was issued a citation for $251.50. Another 19-year-old female was issued a citation for $376.50, for her second offense. An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were issued citations for $251.50.
Fraud
A quick-change artist defrauded the Union Terrace Café out of $20 on Feb. 22 at 1:28 p.m. The suspect was identified as a 30- to 40-year-old black male, approximately 6-feet-1-inch, with gray or brown facial hair, and wire-rimmed glasses. He wore a gray trench coat, a matching fedora and black shoes. The man also spoke with a stutter.
Theft
A student reported her Motorola cell phone was stolen on Feb. 20 at 11:09 a.m. The cell phone was valued at $50.
A student reported his bicycle stolen from outside South Tower of Sandburg Hall on Feb. 23 at 5:41 p.m. The bike was valued at $400.
Vandalism
A UWM custodian reported that a sink was ripped out of the wall in a Mitchell Hall bathroom on Feb. 23 at 9:38 a.m. The damage is valued at $400. No arrests have been made.
Vehicle accident
A BOSS van was involved in an accident with another vehicle at the intersection of N. 7th St. and W. Capitol Drive on Feb. 22 at 5:43 p.m. The BOSS van sustained extensive front-end damage. Both vehicles were towed. There were no injuries.
Other
A student reported her car missing from the North Point UPark lot on Feb. 20 at 12:25 p.m. The woman was involved in an accident on the freeway that morning, but continued to her destination. The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department later towed the vehicle for leaving the scene of an accident.
University Housing staff reported a 15-minute parking meter lying in the Sandburg Hall Commons on Feb. 26 at 9:08 p.m. The meter, attached to a 15-foot metal pole with a sign, was knocked down from the circle drive outside.
A 30-year-old female was warned for unlawful presence and later released after students in Mitchell Hall witnessed her sitting in a dark room, rocking back and forth on Feb. 26 at 10:10 p.m. It was discovered later that the woman was listening to a boom box.
