Theft

A student’s purse was stolen from Enderis Hall on Feb. 6 at 12:37 p.m. The purse contained a Social Security card, a credit card, a round-trip airline ticket from Milwaukee to Seattle and $15.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on allegations of theft on Feb. 6 at 11:18 p.m. The man was not affiliated with UWM and allegedly stole a laptop after he used a stolen ID to enter Sandburg Hall. The man remains in custody and charges are pending.

A wallet was stolen from the Fine Arts Theater on Feb. 6 at 12:42 p.m. The wallet was valued at $5.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on allegations of retail theft on Feb. 7 at 12:20 p.m. The man was caught stealing three textbooks valued at $241.95 from the Union Bookstore. He was issued a citation for $282.75.

A computer was reported stolen from Engelmann Hall on Feb. 8 at 10:35 a.m. The computer was valued at $1,027.

A laptop was reported stolen from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning on Feb. 8 at 12:40 p.m. The laptop was a rental that costs $500 per semester.

An 18-year-old woman was caught stealing a pack of gum valued at $1.18 from the Union Bookstore on Feb. 9 at 9:35 a.m. The student was issued a warning and released.

An iPod and jacket were reported stolen from Channel 1 inside of Sandburg Hall on Feb. 9 at 11:25 p.m. The property was valued at $200.

A faculty member’s credit cards were stolen from her jacket in Curtin Hall on Feb. 10 sometime in the evening. Charges totaling $7,120 were placed on the cards. There are no suspects.

Household, food and office items were stolen from a staff break room in Curtin Hall on Feb. 10 at 9:13 a.m. The items were valued at $415.

A UWM employee reported his wallet stolen from an office in Curtin Hall at 11:12 a.m. on Feb. 10. The wallet was valued at $30.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on allegations of theft of property between $100 and $500 on Feb. 10 at 2:05 p.m. He was accused of stealing two backpacks from the front of the Union Bookstore with the intent of selling back the textbooks.

A student’s debit card was stolen from Sandburg Hall on Feb. 10 at 7:16 p.m. Charges totaling $200 were placed on the card.

Burglary

A coffee machine was broken into on the second floor of the Engineering and Mathematical Sciences Building on Feb. 7 at 5:51 p.m. The thief was unable to access the money.

Drugs

An 18-year-old woman was arrested on Feb. 6 at 6:57 p.m. for possession of marijuana. Police responded to a report of a suspicious smell coming from a dorm in the North Tower of Sandburg Hall, where they found a bag of marijuana. She was issued a citation for $376.50.

Other

A small grass fire was reported outside of the South Tower of Sandburg Hall. The fire was extinguished before officials arrived. There was no evidence of foul play.

A female student reported that someone in Italy was falsely using her PantherMail account to send out advertisements for a sex Web site on Feb. 8. She changed the password to her e-mail account.
