Theft

A student’s backpack was stolen from the Union Bookstore on Jan. 23 at 12:44 p.m. The bag was valued at $231.

A student’s backpack was stolen from the Union Bookstore on Jan.23 at 4:39 p.m. Two new books valued at $103 were in the bag.

A Panther Bookstore shopping bag was stolen from the Union Bookstore on Jan. 24 at 2:46 p.m. The bag contained a book valued at $50.

A 22-year-old male student was arrested on allegations of retail theft on Jan. 24 at 1:24 p.m. The student attempted to steal books valued at $148.90. He was issued a citation for $282.75.

A 25-year-old male student was arrested on allegations of retail theft on Jan. 24 at 3:33 p.m. The student attempted to steal art supplies valued at $14.76. He was issued a citation for $282.75.

A faculty member reported that her purse had been stolen from her office in Curtin Hall at 10:03 a.m. on Jan. 25. The purse contained $100.

A student’s backpack was stolen from the Union Bookstore on Jan. 25 at 4:11 p.m. The bag was valued at $106.

A wallet was stolen from Enderis Hall on Jan. 25. The wallet contained $10 and debit card. Charges totaling $254 were made to the debit card.

A professor reported that his laptop was stolen from his office on Jan. 27 at 9:16 a.m. after he had left his office open for 10 minutes. The laptop was valued at $1,300.

Two textbooks were stolen from a resident’s room in the North Tower of Sandburg Hall on Jan. 27 at 12:02 p.m. The books were valued at $155.

A purse was stolen from an office in Mitchell Hall on Jan. 27 at 9:37 p.m. The purse was valued at $205.

Underage Consumption/Drugs

A 19-year-old male student was arrested on allegations of possessing marijuana on Jan. 26 at 9:14 p.m., when a suspicious smell was reported coming from his room in the North Tower of Sandburg Hall. The student was issued a citation for $376.50.

A 19-year-old female was arrested on allegations of possessing marijuana on Jan. 26 at 11:15 p.m., when a suspicious smell was reported coming out of her room in the North Tower of Sandburg Hall. She was issued a citation for $376.50.

A 19-year-old male was arrested on allegations of underage alcohol consumption on Jan. 28. A Sandburg staff member reported that the student had been yelling in his room and being disorderly. He was issued a citation for $251.20.

An officer observed three college-age males holding onto beer cans in a bus shelter on Downer Avenue at 10:53 p.m. on Jan. 28. A 20-year-old male was arrested on allegations of underage alcohol consumption and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was issued $941.70 worth of citations. The two other suspects fled the scene.

A 20-year-old male was caught urinating on a fence near Downer Avenue on Jan. 28. He was issued a $251.50 citation for underage alcohol consumption.

A 19-year-old male student was arrested on Jan. 29 at 3:14 a.m. on allegations of underage alcohol consumption and possession of marijuana. He was issued $627.70 in citations.

Vandalism

Graffiti was reported on the east doors of Mellencamp Hall on Jan. 26. The doors had the word “OAKS” spray painted onto them. Damage is unknown.

A 19-year-old male was arrested on Jan. 28 on allegations of vandalism and disorderly conduct. The student was reportedly threatening fellow students and ransacking a dorm room.

Other

A female Sandburg resident reported an unauthorized male in her dorm room at 8:41 p.m. on Jan. 24. She said that a college-aged male entered her room, tried waking her up and then “grabbed her ass.” The suspect was in her room about one minute then left. No charges were filed.

A counterfeit $5 bill was reported turned in to the Bursar’s Office at 8:41 a.m. on Jan. 27.
