The New Year is a time of reflection about what one wants to accomplish in the upcoming year and what things one wants to leave behind. Students were asked what they resolved to do this year.
“Communicate more with people…try to help other people be successful.”
B. J. Van Dunhoven, 25, is studying the comparative study of religions and wants to work on building stronger relationships with others.
“I didn’t make one…didn’t think about it really.”
Robby Seleen, 23. Seleen is majoring in environmental engineering.
“I don’t have to make a resolution to change something…I think it’s [a New Year’s resolution] pointless.”
Brittany Campbell, 19, admits she has broken past resolutions and did not make any this year.
“I haven’t thought about it. I am busy working on my thesis.”
Chu Tan, 27. This computer science graduate student said he did not have time to think about resolutions.
“To stay in shape with kickboxing…I go five days a week.”
Paul Wangsvick, 24, is a mass communication graduate student and teaching assistant.
“One of them is to keep in touch with more people. The other one is to finish all the projects that I start.”
Candace Floyd, 19. Floyd is majoring in psychology.
“I just started a business…my resolution is to make that successful.”
Alan Giese, 45, is the co-creator of SingleMilwaukee.com and is in the process of creating a Milwaukee lifestyles website.
